“Cold Spaghetti Western” aspect ratio comparison

  • When filming the beginning “Follow the Bird” scene, the camera slate appears to say the Date as ‘24 04 2003’, meaning it may have filmed on April 24, 2003.
  • It's unknown what the camera slate says for the El Pato scene
  • This is the last Wiggles screener VHS to have the exact same cover as the retail release.
  • This is the first Wiggles video to be released on home video in 16:9 widescreen (though previous videos such as Wiggle Bay and Whoo Hoo! Wiggly Gremlins! had been filmed and made in 16:9 widescreen). However, the US DVD and VHS releases present it in 4:3 letterbox format. This was likely done to also accommodate full-screen TV's, which were still fairly common at the time.
    • The US DVD and VHS has a letterbox format screen, but it does not appear on the US DVD and VHS release of Wiggle Bay.
    • On the Australian VHS and the Hong Kong DVD, this video is presented in 14:9 (also known as "halfway widescreen").
  • This video was named after a line from Hot Potato.
  • Like The Wiggles Movie, this video has sound effects from Hollywood Edge's Cartoon Trax (USA, 1992) and Sound Ideas' Series 4000 (Canada, 1989).
  • The name of the video is a pun on the movie genre "Spaghetti Western," i.e. Italian westerns.
  • This is the last Wiggles video to be directed by Nicholas Bufalo.
  • The line "Can you hear the drums, Fernando?" is a reference to the ABBA song "Fernando".
  • This is Fernando Moguel's second Wiggles video appearance, his first was Hoop-Dee-Doo It's a Wiggly Party
  • This video was planned in 2002 according to meeting footage seen in The Wiggles Take on the World.
  • This is the third non-concert video to be filmed on location instead of in studio, the first was Wiggly Safari and the second was Wiggle Bay.
  • In this video, Anthony and Greg got new haircuts.
  • The only two videos after this not to be released on DVD in the UK (until Let's Eat) were Sailing Around the World and Wiggledancing! Live In The U.S.A., the latter of which was exclusive to North America.
  • This is the fifth Wiggles story-based video, the first was The Wiggles Movie, the second was Wiggle Bay, the third was Space Dancing, and the fourth was Whoo Hoo Wiggly Gremlins.
  • The Wiggly Orchestra are credited for the Yamaha instruments.
  • Foodman makes his first appearance since Toot Toot!.
  • Songs from this video never appeared in a TV Series (not counting a Wiggly Animation version of We're The Cowboys).

  • This is the second time The Wiggles wore their cowboy outfits. The first time was in Top of the Tots, during Cowboys and Cowgirls.
  • In the prologue of "Listen To The Drummer Playing", The Wiggles are seen in their cowboy outfits. Whereas in the song, they are seen in their regular outfits.
  • This video was released in Australia after Steve Blau died.
  • This is the second and last Wiggles Australian VHS to come in a yellow case after The Wiggly Big Show. In that case some copies of the 2004 Australian DVD came in a yellow case where you had to remove the cover to see the inlay.
  • The screener VHS has no letterbox warning at the beginning and no previews at the end whatsoever.
  • The white duck costume returns since it was used in The Wiggles Big Show on Wiggle Time!.
  • Listen To The Drummer Playing was the only song in this video where The Wiggles wore the outfits they usually wear. Also in this song, Tony Henry plays the stunt drummer of Captain Feathersword during the shots of The Wiggles.
  • This is the fourth video where Jeff didn't play the Red Starry Keyboard. The first was Yule Be Wiggling, the second was Wiggly Safari and the third was Wiggle Bay.
  • Like Top of the Tots, Ben Murray was absent in this video, because he was changing his hair colour to black, however, he was seen in A Wiggly Postcard from Asia which is one of the special features on the DVD.
  • A stripped-back instrumental of We're The Cowboys (featuring only acoustic guitar, piano and organ) plays as background music in some scenes. During the prologue of El Pato, if you listen closely there is an acoustic version of Cielito Lindo playing.
  • The Hong Kong DVD release does not contain any menus or special features.
  • The VHS inlay promotes the following videos:
  • The video was originally scheduled to be released in Australia in September 2004,[7] however it was made available that August instead whereas the video was originally scheduled to released in North America on July 27, 2004, [8] however it was made available on March 30 instead when it switched places with Whoo Hoo! Goofs[]

  • The Australian DVD lists 4:3 as the aspect ratio, but it is actually 16:9.
  • Some of the times when Anthony's heard, his mouth is not moving.
  • During the prologue of "Follow The Bird", a string is seen on the bird as it flies away.
  • When the Wiggly Group and Alfonso were running to the Fair, the next shot shows Henry, Wags, and Dorothy already at the Fair. But after that shot, they're seen arriving at the Fair with the Wiggles, Captain Feathersword, and Alfonso.
  • While Larissa and Lucy hand the judges the 4 different plates of food by the 4 contestants. After they handed the plates to the judge they are seen standing next to the judges but they're seen behind Alfonso after they hand the dishes to the judge.
  • The DVD Main Menu says "Song Jukebox" but when you click on the Song Jukebox option it is referred to as "Songs Jukebox." Also during the last song jukebox selection, it strangely says "next" even though there is already a menu option.
  • Throughout the video part of Dorothy's teeth are missing.
  • In the scene where Wags, Dorothy, and Henry are running the Great Western Cafe, Wags' red towel is on the floor during two of the far shots, while in the close shots and one of the far shots, it is on his arm
  • The clamshell US VHS says "2003" instead of 2004 but the slipcover VHS has the correct year.
  • On the Master Slate, It was said 11/24/2002 (which is incorrect) but It was actually completed in 2003.
